Welcome to my Barbados naked series. Here I will provide you the details of things to see to do and on the island and recommend restaurants, bars and trips, which I say, either experienced or were guests me how good they really are. I hope that the To find useful information for your trip or research of the island and we would be delighted if you feel you could add something to my information. St Barth Commuter
A local airline company in St. Barths, which offers flights from there planned for St Martin / Sint Maarten Caribbean private aircraft charters to islands in the eastern Caribbean is based. They have a fleet of five twin-engine planes and five specially trained (STOL) Pilots with permission to land in St Barths.
SVG Air
A local Caribbean airline, offers charter flights to the Grenadines from around the region, often from Barbados, but also from St. Lucia and Grenada, and from as far as Puerto Rico. Nominally Air has around a dozen, 5-19 seater planes and also offers island hopping and Air Ambulance Services.
AIRPORT

The airport has recently undergone a multi-million dollar expansion concluded with the important phase in 2007. This included the construction of a new, much larger in the arrival terminal now has 22 immigration jobs, five major Baggage carousels and two duty free shops. PASSPORTS And Visa
As a visitor to Barbados you need a passport with a validity of at least six months from the date of the entry, along with a valid return airline ticket. This now applies to all American and Canadian citizens, while British citizens needed to have a full 10 year passport. American, Canadian, British and EU citizens do not need a visa for a short stay. PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The bus system in Barbados is good and the fleet of blue and yellow buses (BM license plate) reaches every corner of the island on a regular basis. You need exact change for the buses, and they hold only at official bus stops, which are marked either 'To City "or" Out of City "in a red and white Circle. The destination is displayed on the windshield.
The government service is provided by privately operated minibuses (B Licence) complements that painted yellow with a blue stripes on the side, route, and taxis (ZR-license), the white Burgundy with a stripe. These buses do give change, and they play local music (Celebrated a little louder at times) and can be anywhere on the track. Destinations are usually placed on a sign in the lower left corner of the windscreen and transport routes, and are generally painted on the sides of buses. It should be noted that ZR vans an adventure, as can be, and the mode. They tend to be in the drop of a hat and at speeds that do not stop for the faint of heart. CAR RENTAL
Renting a car is an excellent addition to a visit to the Caribbean, but especially in Barbados, for there is much to do and because the island is to explore surprisingly well. There are some beautiful beaches in the cliffs of the south-east, making the cut for an excellent day and picnic, and the Atlantic coast is wonderfully dramatic. First steps lost in the cane fields is almost par for the course, so do not worry if you do. Just stop and ask, and someone is bound to help. Finally, there are all the restaurants visited in the evening. From the perspective of an island, cars are an essential aspect of local life. The Bajans prefer a few hundred meters drive than to walk, and so there is actually a rush hour of work every morning and evening. There is an amazing 1719 km asphalt road on the island.
A local driver's license is required to drive in Barbados. These costs BDS $ 10 and can be reached from the car rental company if your car, or to any police station rent. If you visit during the winter season and know that you want a car then it is advisable, it is not well in advance, otherwise, due to high demand, it is impossible have to take to get one. The medical facilities in Barbados are among the best in the Caribbean. There are eight polyclinics throughout the island and two hospitals.
The General Hospital Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in Bridgetown, which has 600 beds and operates a 24-hour A & E department.
There is also a modern private institution at the Bay View Hospital St. Michael, which does not have an A & E department, but it is the FMH Medical Emergency Clinic in St. Michael.
VACCINATIONS
Vaccinations are not required for entry to Barbados, where you can check with your doctor before traveling. There is one exception, for travelers from Areas with yellow fever where a vaccination certificate is required from travelers over one got infected (1) year old.

TELEPHONE
Barbados has a fairly good telecommunications system and it has been recently liberalized, so that mobile phones are working from abroad (though calls can still be quite expensive). The networks are Cable & Wireless, Digicel and AT & T Wireless.
The international dialing code for Barbados is followed +1246 seven digits. As an on-island, you simply select the seven digits. If you live in a villa, you verify that the phone allows international calls, as some have locks that need to be lifted, and for which a deposit.
Internet services are available in most hotels and some villas, plus have a number of Internet cafes now open. Mobile phones can be rented or a roaming feature can be added to your own mobile
Overseas calls can be made from any phone Stand around the island, the payment for which is by credit card or a local pre-paid phone card.
TIME ZONE
Barbados 4 hours behind GMT and so during the winter it is four hours behind Britain and five behind the rest of Europe, and one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time in the U.S.. Barbados has no summer time in the summer, the island then five hours behind British Summer Time (six behind the rest of Europe) and at the same time as the East Coast of the United States.

Departure Tax & Taxes
Departure tax is not payable at the airline check-in desk, as it should be included in the cost of the ticket – please check to confirm your ticket. This tax (passenger service is) payable by all passengers leaving the island (except for stays under 24 hours) and over the age of 12. The amount increased on at BDS $ 55/US $ 27.50 first February 2007.
Hotel and villa accommodation costs a 7.5% state tax and a room service charge in Barbados, which normally added to your account (unless you are staying in an all-inclusive hotel). It is quite a difference to the possible price for your holiday, if So make sure you direct booking charge, if they are in quantities up to your trip.
A 15% tax on most services is inclusive car rental, tourist attractions, Restaurants, retail etc (other than duty free items), excursions, but this is usually included in the published price, except for car hire rates, be specified in the rule without VAT, so you need to add it.
WEATHER
Barbados provides that 3000 hours of sunshine each added year. Certainly, even within the Caribbean it has an excellent climate. The temperatures vary from a few degrees over the year and because it is by sea The island is surrounded, rarely too hot, except occasionally in summer, especially if it does. In general, there are a breeze to take the edge off the heat. The best time to Visit is in winter, when the Northern Hemisphere's coldest in February, although this of course is the high season and the most expensive time.

Barbados is located on the edge of the hurricane belt, but not seriously affected in recent years.
WATER
Most of the water in Barbados is artesian water, rainwater, that in the Limestone structure of the country is invaded. It's generally safe to drink from the tap and tastes good, but in restaurants you will find a selection of local water bottles or bot. But with so much pressure on the existing groundwater resources in recent years, a desalination (the largest in the Caribbean) system is now operational, the water provides 20% the island's population, currently within the Spring Garden Highway area, where the plant is located. Sandy Lane Hotel also has a desalination plant.
Tap water should Bridgetown introduced in 1861, and to commemorate the event an ornamental fountain, made in Britain was built in 1865, in today's Heroes Square.
CHILDREN
In general, children are also included in Barbados, but some of the smarter hotels have an age restriction policy at certain times of the year, particularly during February and March. Others offer special children's programs. Most villas are oriented to children. It is easy to find babysitters and they cost about BDS $ 20 per hour, plus transport for home.
There is not an abundance of playgrounds in Barbados at the moment, but six of the fast food have Chefette Now Kids Zones (air-conditioned at Rockley) and each has a playground slides, cars and other rides and activities for parties and just to be. Welcome visitors pizza restaurant in Sunset Crest in Holetown on the West Coast also has a playground.

Adventure Beach at the shipyard has kayaks, pedal boats, glass bottom boats, ocean trampolines, a floating ice mountain climbing, beach volleyball and Snorkeling. Accra Beach in the Rockley area is another popular beach spot and is good for boogie boarding with boards for hire. Batts Rock on the West Coast (near Calabaza Restaurant) has good swimming and snorkeling, plus a small children's playground with slides, swings and seesaws. There is parking, picnic benches, showers and changing rooms and vending machine.
CORPORATE / Incentives
Barbados has excellent facilities for corporate clients in all types of groups, incentives and business and events. The island has good international and regional flights, making it easy to reach. Where accommodation is concerned, some of the larger VIPvillas Villas can be ideal settings for small groups. Especially those who are staffed with cooks.

WHAT To PACK
Consider the following when packing for a trip to Barbados:
Adequate sun protection, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat / Beach-shirt/blouse/t-shirt cap and a light, suitable beach and walking shoes, mosquito repellent containing DEET suitable for use throughout the day, cream for insect bites. Also consider and adapter plugs, film and batteries for the camera, toiletries, beach mat / towel preferred; brand of coffee / tea, small flashlight.
Clothes – lightweight cotton clothing, with elegant / casual attire for the evening. Note that most good restaurants and top hotels require that men wear long trousers and wear shirts in the evening hours, not shorts, flip-flops or T-shirts. During the festive season people tend to dress up and a couple of exclusive establishments may jacket and tie request. Women may wrap a light jacket or pack in the winter months, as the evenings (Jan / Feb) sometimes feel cool after the heat of the day.
You should be aware that it is a crime for anyone, including children, in camouflage dress in Barbados. There is also a crime to bring in meat products from the United Kingdom.
BANKS
International and local commercial banks in Barbados, the Bank of Nova Scotia / Scotia Bank, Barbados National Bank, First Caribbean Bank, Caribbean Commercial Bank, Royal Bank of Canada and the Mutual Bank. The Central Bank of Barbados has been in operation since 1973rd The island also offers offshore banking and insurance services.
Bank opening times are Mon-Thu 08.00 bis 03.00 clock clock and Friday from 8:00 to 05.00 clock. Most banks are closed on weekends, but the Mutual Bank has two branches, which opens until 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays until 2pm, and the Caribbean Commercial Bank open 09:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. ATMs are located across the island, including the airport, port, some gas stations and shopping centers. Note that ATMs only give out Barbados dollars (not U.S. dollars) and some overseas fee for cash transactions.
The banks require customers to show their passports when cashing traveler's checks. You must show a transaction slip, as well, if you want to convert Barbados dollars back to your own currency.
Currency / Credit Cards
The currency of Barbados Barbados dollars (BDS), which is fixed to the U.S. dollar in the amount of U.S. $ 1.00 = Bds $ 1.98 (around street / beach vendors can do a straight two for one). All prices on the island of Barbados are in U.S. dollars, with the exception of hotel rates that are only in the United States duty-free items, if the local BDS $ price is displayed next to the dollar price. U.S. dollars (notes only) are accepted throughout the island, but you will often find that the exchange rate is not as favorable in Hotels, supermarkets and department stores such as in the bank.
CREDIT CARDS
Most of the major credit cards (including Debit cards) are accepted everywhere that deal with tourists on a regular basis. Do not expect local bars or small restaurants to accept them (in doubt, check In advance), but you will notice that the larger supermarkets often do. It is worth noting that certain credit cards, an additional fee to win.
